Identity Verification

To protect users against unauthorized or fraudulent requests, we may verify ownership of the account through the email address associated with the account or another reasonable authentication method.

A deletion request may not be completed until identity verification is successful.

What Will Be Deleted

After verification, the following information associated with the account will be deleted or irreversibly de-identified, as applicable:

  • IPLP App authentication account;
  • Name, email address and account identifiers;
  • Profile photograph and uploaded profile files;
  • Biography, affiliation and other profile information;
  • Device and push-notification tokens;
  • Account preferences;
  • Posts, comments, reactions and other account activity;
  • Messages and uploaded attachments associated with the account;
  • Event registrations maintained exclusively within the IPLP App; and
  • Other personal data directly associated with the account.

Content that forms part of a shared conversation or community record may be removed or irreversibly de-identified so that it is no longer connected to the deleted user.

Deleting your IPLP App account will not delete your University of Arizona NetID, University email account, student or alumni record, academic record, course record, D2L account, or access to other University systems.

Deletion Timeline

Verified requests will be completed within 30 days.

During this period:

  • The account may be marked as pending deletion;
  • Access may be suspended;
  • The user may be logged out;
  • Notifications may stop; and
  • The account will not be treated as permanently deleted until the process is completed.

We will send confirmation to the email address associated with the account after permanent deletion has been completed.

Before permanent deletion is completed, you may request cancellation of the deletion request and recovery of your account.

Email Law-IPLP@arizona.edu from the email address associated with your IPLP App account. Use the subject:

We may require identity verification before restoring access.

Recovery is available only while the request is pending. Once permanent deletion has been completed, the account, profile and associated data cannot be recovered.
